Tara Beall-Gomes is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, allowing her to provide high-quality, ethical care to clients across state lines through in-person and telehealth services. She is also a National Certified Counselor, Sex Addiction Treatment Professional (SATP), Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS), Connecticut Certified School Counselor, Certified Deconstructing Gaslighting™ Level II Clinician, and Inner Child Recovery Process Specialist.

As a clinician licensed in both CT and FL, Tara specializes in supporting betrayed partners of sex and pornography addiction with evidence-based, trauma-informed care. She utilizes the APSATS Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) and Prodependence theory, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, validated, and empowered.

Tara is deeply committed to helping individuals reclaim their sense of self, restore emotional safety, and develop healthier relational and behavioral patterns following betrayal.

A Career Rooted in Care and Connection: 

With over 20 years of experience, Tara has worked with individuals, children, and families navigating complex emotional and relational challenges, including:

  • Betrayal and relational trauma

  • Racial and institutional trauma

  • ADD/ADHD and anxiety disorders

  • Developmental delays and depression

  • Grief, loss, and social-emotional skill development

Before entering private practice, Tara spent 15 years as a certified school counselor in the public school system (2003–2018). This foundation gives her a unique ability to support children, adolescents, and parents with insight, compassion, and practical guidance.

Tara is a guest writer for Turning To Peace Magazine, where she shares accessible, educational perspectives on betrayal trauma for a broad audience.

Main Street Counseling & Grit & Grace Recovery:

In 2011, Tara founded Main Street Counseling, LLC, with the vision of creating a therapeutic environment that feels safe, welcoming, and growth-oriented. Her dedication to emotional wellness and authentic connection has shaped the practice into a trusted space for individuals and families.

In 2024, Tara expanded her work through Grit & Grace Recovery, LLC, a sister practice specializing in betrayal trauma, sex and pornography addiction, and relational healing. While her personal clinical caseload is now housed within Grit & Grace Recovery, she continues to guide the growth and evolution of Main Street Counseling.

Together, both practices reflect Tara’s unwavering commitment to ethical care, trauma-informed practice, and meaningful healing—serving clients in Connecticut, Florida, and beyond via telehealth.
